Multi-year renewals include major markets Atlanta, Phoenix, St. Louis, Raleigh, and Las Vegas.

ViacomCBS wrapped up multi-year affiliate renewals with Nexstar and Meredith this week. The agreements cover 16 CBS stations that serve approximately 10.5% of the U.S. audience in 11 million households. All of the stations will continue to be available locally on CBS All Access.

The agreements underscore the importance of CBS’ longstanding relationships with key affiliates, which together help ensure that nearly every household in America can access the network’s news, sports, and entertainment programming.

The seven Meredith affiliate renewals include three top 25 stations: WGCL Atlanta, KPHO Phoenix, and KMOV St. Louis.

“Our collaboration allows us to continue to support local communities with crucial access to CBS’ leading news and entertainment programming, which has never been more important in this current climate,” said Ray Hopkins, president of U.S. Networks Distribution at ViacomCBS.

The Nexstar renewal covers nine CBS network affiliations, including top-50 stations WNCN Raleigh and KLAS Las Vegas. This week’s agreement follows a 15-market renewal with Nexstar last summer and brings “substantially all” of CBS’ 49 Nexstar television stations up-to-date.

“CBS’ all-star schedule includes an engaging year-round line-up of prime-time entertainment programming, live sports, and special events, which complements the high-quality local news and other exclusive local content produced by Nexstar,” said Nexstar Media Group President and CEO Perry A. Sook. “Together, CBS and Nexstar deliver great entertainment and information to viewers and an excellent marketing platform for local and national advertisers.”

Nexstar is the largest independent operator of CBS affiliates, covering 14% of the U.S. and serving more than 15 million households.
